A Season of Change

Here comes the end of summer!  I still have a lot of living to do in the next few weeks before the weather shifts!  We've packed in so much already, yet I seem to have this need for "just one more thing."  Today, we will do school shopping, and sort through the clothes that have "shrunk."  And it makes me realize that this is another time of change.  Change also signals an opportunity to make some new resolutions for my own growth:

  • Get Organized.  I'm going to look for my desk again.  It has disappeared under a mound of papers!
  • Volunteer.  My friend, Joyce, has resolved to donate time every week to our local soup kitchen.  What a way to put faith into action!
  • Read More.  Is there a book you've been wanting to pick up at the library?  I've been hearing so much about Andy Stanley's book, Visioneering, that I know I've got to read it!

What will you resolve to do, as the kids head off to school?

:o Sally, I saw your post on Celebrate Moms (I'm a new team member) and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw your location of Jamestown, NY. Wow, a trip down memory lane for me! I'm in Myrtle Beach, SC now for about 12 years but lived the 12 years before that in the Jamestown/Mayville area. God brought me down south here to meet HIM, so I would love to know what church your husband pastors when I head up that way for a visit. My parents both grew up in Mayville, as did my oldest son-I worked for Dr. Scarpino years ago and attended JCC. What a beautiful area. It's neat that you're sharing about changes-they are so much more noticable up that way...leaves and cold...winter and snow...spring rains...ahhhhh

Sally, Change is all around. This summer, my son's voice changed! He will be 14 in October and I knew it was coming, now it's here. I hope to be busier this year with speaking and writing. Last year was a foundational year for me and I hope to see some harvest this year. You are a blessing. I wanted to stop by and say hello. May I invite your bloggers to my blog? blog.sandrastanford.com :)
