Fall Colors

The trees are bursting with color in western New York.  Every year, I marvel at the variety of red, orange, brown, green, purple and yellow.  And I wonder again how the Lord could top that!  Yet, He continues to create infinite new beauty.  On overcast days, the color seems more vibrant; the trees provide a stark contrast to the dark backdrop of sky.

When storms come into our lives, we need the colors of faith to remind us of our Creator.  He paints love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control with careful sweeping strokes.  And people around us marvel at the work of God taking place on the canvas of our lives.

How awesome are Your works, O Lord!

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.  He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”  Ecclesiastes 3:11

"...eternity in the hearts of men..." Isn't it interesting how an obvious sign of the passage of time--the leaves changing in fall--reminds us of God's eternity beyond all time?

Of course, in Texas, where I live, very few trees change.

Nice thoughts here, and thanks for your interest in HighCallingBlogs.com.
