Lost and Found

Are you missing anything lately?

Maybe a paper with important information on it?

Or a child who has lost his way?

            Or peace in difficult circumstances?

Maybe you’ve found some things you weren’t looking for?

Lethargy in the midst of crisis?

Ugly attitudes you were sure you’d previously abandoned?

Extra weight to your thought patterns?

Jesus told a parable about a woman who lost her savings and turned her house upside down looking for it.  I can relate to her frenetic activity.  I shuffle papers and pull out couch cushions to find that lost info.  Then I repeat the process relentlessly.

But what about losing a child or peace?  Those are beyond our control, aren’t they?  Praise the Lord, nothing ever overwhelms Him!  Zephaniah 3:17a says, “The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save.”

When my children were little, I wondered if staying home would make a difference in their lives.  Zechariah 4:10 reminded me that time with my kids was not insignificant.  One day we will rejoice that the standard has been instilled in their lives.  The payoff will come when, like the woman who lost her savings, we will find what was lost and throw a party!  You can find her story and others in Luke 15.

Oh, yeah, staying home with children makes a huge difference I think. And I believe it is just as important to be there for teenagers as small children, maybe even more so. The Bible still says a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame (Prov 29:15) and I have seen it proven.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting on the Luke 7 post. You are also invited to take part in the thanksgiving post on my journal if you would like - http://kerri530.bravejournal.com

As far as your next post about movies. Did you see The Last Sin-eater? It and Facing the Giants were excellent movies!

I haven't seen The Last Sin-Eater, but read the book. Francine Rivers is one of my favorite authors!
Facing the Giants was a big hit with our football guys and had a story line for all of us.
