Can life become too comfortable? Do we settle into a rut and just plod along? Mark Goodyear posted an intriguing question; “Where has all the confidence and authority and ‘engage the culture’ gone?”
Jesus is the Living Water who satisfies our thirst. He is the Light in a dark world. But Jesus also said we are salt and light. Our lives should create a thirst in others that they might seek the One for whom we shine.
How do we do that? Live with integrity and purpose. Be vocal about our faith in compassionate ways. Listen to what others are saying and pray for the Lord to use us as salt and light in their lives.
Are you good with a hammer? Maybe a widow needs some repairs to her home. Or, Habitat for Humanity could always use an extra hand. http://www.habitat.org/
Can you cook? How about whipping up something for a single parent? Or volunteering at the local soup kitchen?
Are you able to string thoughts into sentences? How about writing letters to encourage missionaries? Or, you could write for the local newspaper.
