Time Machines

It’s official.  I now feel old.

Our popcorn popper finally bit the dust.  One batch was fine.  The next batch wouldn’t get hot enough to pop.  So I decided to pop the oiled kernels on the stove.  You know, the way we did when we were kids?  My teens asked what I was doing.  All they’ve ever known was a Stir Crazy with the rotating arm.  Or a bag of microwave popcorn.  But that doesn’t really count as popcorn, right?!

#1 Son looked incredulous.  Like it couldn’t be done.  But he sure liked the way it tasted!  #1 Daughter didn’t want to try it.  Like it couldn’t be any good.  She likes microwave popcorn just fine, thank you.

Hmmpf.  I think I’ll go get my cane and take a nap!

We don't understand what this means, but our Mommy told us to write it, as she is rocking in her chair, too. "Give them an iron and cassette player for Christmas!"

Thanks for visiting our blog, and, yup -- winning books is as good as it gets!

Teddy T. and Spaulding T. Bear
who are trying to figure out why anyone wants to have some iron ore for Christmas, and who is Cassette, and what kind of player is he/she?

Teddy and Spaulding,
Thanks for stopping by. I hope your Mommy is able to clear up the confusion. Those time machines can sure change over the years!

I started popping popcorn on the stove years ago when I got fed up with burnt microwave popcorn and tons of kernels left over! Now we pop organic popcorn in Coconut oil and don't even like to add butter. Except to movie popcorn! :)

Hey Gina,
Coconut oil sounds like a great flavoring. Thanks for the tip!
