Volunteers are needed in all kinds of organizations, all across the world.  Every city has need for people to step up and help others.  From nursing home visitors to pet shelter walkers to neighborhood cleanup crews, we can make a difference and show pride in our own arena. 

I’ve started a new blog for our local community center.  It houses the soup kitchen, thrift store, and many other programs to help people who are in midst of a difficult time.

You can help out by leaving comments about ways that your vicinity lends a helping hand.  Or maybe you have been on the receiving end?  When my son and I went to Atlanta last year, we saw how discouraging it could get if you never heard any success stories.  So share them too.  We can learn from each other!
