Teens and Drama

Do you remember your teen years?  It was a very traumatic time of wading through mood swings, friend frustrations, romantic dreams and scholastic expectations!  For teens today, add on increased technology, peer pressure, higher drug availability and the Hollywood sex craze.  It’s no wonder our youth are so stressed out!

Bill MacPhee held a ParenTeen Seminar at Zion Covenant Church a few weeks ago, and I am still munching on the treasures he shared.  Bill pointed out the rapid changes our world has gone through and how those changes have affected the youth of our society.

Our kids have a need to know that someone hears them and cares about them!

One of the most affirming things I gleaned:  in spite of all the drama, I am still the best mom my kids could have, because I was chosen to be theirs.  They have been entrusted to my care.

Remember that, when you have a day full of drama.

Remember that, when you have a disconnect with your teen.

And remember that, when you feel like giving up.

The Lord chose you, and He will help you through each new act in the play!

Love,

Sally

Ephesians 6:4 (The Message)  Fathers, don't exasperate your children by coming down hard on them. Take them by the hand and lead them in the way of the Master.
