Since I haven’t figured out how to do this yet, I decided to take a backward stab at this High Callings topic.
1. Don’t set up any boundaries around family time. Be sure you sign up for every possible sport for the kids too. That way you’ll be able to stay in the adrenaline rush all of the time.
2. Don’t clock out on time. When you work overtime, you’re sure to always be around when the janitors come in. Just think, you can be on a first-name basis and always have a clean trash can!
3. Don’t have meals ready after work. You can go through the Drive-thru and eat on the way to your next activity. Who cares if the family has indigestion? Think how much laundry you’ll save by not having to wash the tablecloth as often.
4. Don’t plan family dates. Really, the teens don’t want to be caught dead in public with their parents. So why put them through that torture? Besides, it’ll save you more hours in your day to spend at the office!
5. Don’t limit your commitments. By being on every board, people will quickly recognize your availability and be willing to let you fill in for them.
Add your own taboos to the list. I’m sure we can boost the ratings quickly for Workaholics Anonymous!
