My friend’s mom died this afternoon.  I keep thinking of her sitting in the auditorium as we waited for the kids’ programs to begin at school.  

No one will be able to fill the void of her empty seat.

Why is death so hard?  We are happy for her as she walks heaven’s streets with Jesus.  She doesn’t need a cane or oxygen or medicine.

            But it hurts to say goodbye.  It feels so lonely.

Jesus said, I will never leave you or forsake you.

Lord, I don’t want to be alone.  I want people around me who care.  

Help me to be that person for others.  Especially for my friend right now as she says goodbye to her mom.
