Voting at the Box Office

The Golden Compass has been the topic of several email chains lately.  Nicole Kidman stars in this God-bashing movie, to be released in time for Christmas.  Check out these articles for more information:  http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/compass.asp and

Can Christians make a difference in Hollywood?  Absolutely!  When we boycott movies that dishonor God, we make a statement.  But an even louder statement is made when we support quality productions.  My husband labels this, “Voting with our feet!”  By attending shows that support family values, we communicate to Hollywood what our dollars will back.  And money is the bottom line, when you are producing high cost entertainment for the big screen.

I was thrilled to attend Amazing Grace.  This visual story helped to understand the privileges we now enjoy, as result of the sacrifice others have made.  See more at:  http://www.amazinggracemovie.com/#.

I am looking forward to seeing Bella.  It has been highly recommended for content and I know this is one of those movies I don’t want to miss.  http://www.movieguide.org/index.php?s=reviews&id=7593

How about you?  Seen any good movies lately?

I really enjoyed Michael Clayton.

I've thought it very interesting to see the difference between the way churches are handling Golden Compass as compared to Da Vinci Code.

They seem to be in fear mode for Golden Compass. Where has all the confidence and authority and "engage the culture" gone?
