Before we can be that vessel, we have to be pliable in God’s hands. Psalm 31:12 talks about what it is like to be broken, that condition of spirit that releases personal rights. When you’re in that brokenness, life looks impossible. You’ve reached the end of your own resources and know that you don’t want to be self-reliant any longer.
That’s exactly when God can use you. Isaiah 64:8 and Psalm 100:3 acknowledge God’s work in our lives. Romans 9:21 says we are clay used for God’s purposes. Isn’t it exciting to know that the Master Potter has a special shape and purpose in mind just for you? Just for me? When we catch a glimpse of ourselves in the mirror of God’s Word, we find a beautiful vessel that He can use for His Glory!
Look at what 2 Corinthians says God can do with a willing heart! Be a Comfort to Others (1:3-7), Be God’s Agent of Forgiveness and Love (2:7-8 ) , Be His Signature Perfume (2:14-16), Be a Letter from Christ (3:2-3), Be Life-Giving Ministers of a New Covenant (3:6), Be Glory Reflectors (3:18 ) , Be His Lighthouse (4:6), Be a Showcase for God’s Power (4:7), Be Administrators of Spiritual CPR (4:13), Be a Source of Thanksgiving to Others and to the Glory of God (4:15), Be Ministers of Reconciliation (5:18-19), Be Christ’s Ambassadors (5:20), Be the Righteousness of God (5:21), Be the Temple of the Living God (6:16), Be the Sons and Daughters of the Lord Almighty (6:18 ) , Be Wealthy Benefactors (9:11), Be Wielders of Divine Weapons (10:4-6), Be God’s Hands to Serve (13:4), Be People Builders (13:10).
How about making yourself available to The Lord right now? He knows how to bring something beautiful out of brokenness! (Psalms 51:17, 34:18, 147:1-11)
