William P. Young has woven a story of grace that gives an intimate glimpse of God’s heart. Here’s a peek at the result of his yearning for answers.
In the midst of suffering, God says to Mack, “there’s no easy answer that will take your pain away…Life takes a bit of time and a lot of relationship.” (p. 92)
Do you ever feel like God’s timing is off? He says, “you don’t need to have it all figured out. Just be with Me.” (p. 178 )
I think I need to have those reminders posted around where I can see them all of the time. Since reading this book during the trek out west with Cindy, I have been trying to look at my time with the Lord from a different perspective. God created everything for His glory and for our enjoyment. He wants us to be eager to spend time with Him. That’s how He feels about being with us! Mack (the main character in the story) refers to God as “Papa.” Papa walks Mack through some horrible situations in his life and says, “Grace doesn’t depend on suffering to exist, but where there is suffering you will find grace in many facets and colors.”
I hope you will make time for this book. It will open your eyes to the colors, too!
